Kerstin, costumed as Star Boy, and her sister Britta Hedstrom, dressed as Sankta Lucia, grew up serving their parents breakfast in bed on Sankta Lucia day, just as all little Swedish girls do. Here, they start the day by surprising Paola with coffee and home make Lussekattor (saffron buns.)	Beverly Allen, Paola and Kerstin Englund, who organized Paola's agenda in Ostersund, and was her interpreter while documenting the festival.


Paola and Kerstin join the choir in the Ostersund town square.	Paola and Swedish-American professor Beverly Allen on the streets of Ostersund Sweden model the felt hats they purchased at the Jamtland Christmas market.


Lucias wear white handkerchiefs under their crowns so the wax doesn't get into their hair.	Kirsten prepares holiday flat bread.
